Main Features
The excellent accessibility of the Axon DM series machining center and the long travel distances
of the X, Y and Z axes allow the machining of large and heavy workpieces.
The machine’s stability ensures perfect surfaces and maximum accuracy. Thanks to the wide range of options, the machine can be configured for heavy-duty machining as well as for high-speed machining with high feed rates.

Technical Details
Interchangeable heads
To meet a wide range of machining requirements, various interchangeable heads are available as options to help you solve your machining tasks.
-Horizontal head for side machining of your workpieces
-Extended horizontal head to avoid interference contours on tall parts
-If you need to plunge into a workpiece, the vertical head can be used as an extension
-The universal orthogonal head can be adjusted in degrees and is therefore versatile
Main spindle
The digital main drive guarantees very high torque in the lower speed range when required, as well as constant power values at high speeds.
To reduce the motor’s thermal impact on the spindle and spindle head, our motors are thermally separated from the spindle head via a cooled radiator plate.
In addition, all working spindles are cooled via a separate cooling circuit.
This further reduces possible thermal expansion of the spindle and thus increases machining precision.
The selection of spindles ranges from the standard direct-drive spindle SK 40 with 10,000 rpm, to motor spindles with up to 20,000 rpm, and up to a geared spindle with steep taper 50.

Machine column
The Axon DM series gantry milling machines are designed for the production of large and precise parts and molds.
The design provides maximum rigidity and concentration of the accelerated masses. This creates the basis for its outstanding dynamic concept and stability.
The motors in the axes reflect the latest state of development in highly dynamic machine tool engineering.
The machine frame of the DM series is made of heavily ribbed “Meehanite cast iron”.
The entire design is characterized by high thermal stability. This enables dynamic load capacity of the machine and guarantees low-vibration, smooth running.
The ergonomic design guarantees optimal accessibility with maximum working area and a reduced footprint.
On request, the side doors (loading doors) can be designed as telescopic doors, making it even easier to load large parts onto the machine table.
Inside, 2 augers ensure chip removal to the optional cross conveyor (hinged belt or scraper belt conveyor).
Siemens Sinumerik 828 D
Robust: A control panel front made of die-cast magnesium, the panel-based CNC design with sophisticated interfaces, and the high IP 65 protection class make SINUMERIK 828 controls reliable partners even in harsh environments.
Maintenance-free: Thanks to a fanless and hard-disk-free design and NV-RAM storage technology without a buffer battery, SINUMERIK 828 controls are completely maintenance-free.
User-friendly: Thanks to a full QWERTY CNC keyboard with short-stroke keys and a high-resolution 15.6” touch display, SINUMERIK 828 controls are easy to operate. With USB and RJ45 interfaces on the front of the control panel, CNC data is transferred quickly and easily.

Heidenhain iTNC 640
For nearly 30 years, TNC controls have proven themselves in daily use on milling machines, machining centers, and drilling machines. This is due on the one hand to the workshop-oriented programmability and on the other hand to the compatibility of programs from the respective predecessor controls.
